Mortgage Underwriting Professional for US Lending Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Underwriting Professional to join our US Lending Operations team at HCLTech. This role is responsible for ensuring that mortgages are underwritten within lending policy guidelines and risk appetite.
The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of GSE, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac guidelines and requirements. They will be able to analyze income & employment, credit strength, property appraisal, debt to Income (DTI) and Loan to value (LTV), and other information pertinent to the credit decision process on each mortgage application.
Key responsibilities include:
Loan Review and Analysis
• Review loan files for completeness and accuracy
• Confirm application information against all documents within the file
• Analyze all credit documents, including mortgage applications, credit history, and income documents
Underwriting and Decision Making
• Authorize and underwrite loans
• Review approved loans/insurance policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies
Risk Assessment and Management
• Identify risk factors, including fraud red flags
• Determine or verify misrepresentation
Communication and Collaboration
• Work seamlessly with loan processors/insurance agents and other team members
• Ensure effective communication of findings and recommendations
The ideal candidate will have:
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Proven work experience as a Mortgage Underwriter
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong data analysis capabilities
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• High mathematical aptitude
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and automated underwriting systems
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum. Benefits include:
