Piping Stress Engineer

  • Perform stress analysis using Caesar II software and pipe supports design for pipelines/piping above-ground and underground.
  • Identify data required for surge analysis at each project stage.
  • Conduct surge analysis of metallic & non-metallic piping using PIPENET software.
  • Extract surge force from PIPENET for input in stress analysis and determine appropriateness.
  • Prepare surge analysis reports for submission to employers as official deliverables.
  • Analyze processes and systems for pressure surges resulting from possible events, providing recommendations for mitigation.
  • Conduct technical reviews of stress analysis and pipe support calculations for compliance with industry standards and safe design practices.
  • Ensure correct application of static and dynamic load cases in stress analysis.
  • Coordinate with vendors to obtain correct pipe properties for stress analysis.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of design codes and standards applicable for Pipe Stress Analysis (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, ISO 14692).
  • Develop job execution plans and work instructions/standard drawings based on ITB requirements.
  • Evaluate man-hours for projects/proposals and allocate specific jobs to engineers, monitoring progress regularly.
  • Control project schedules, quality, and budgeted man-hours.
  • Interact with clients/PMB/vendors to resolve key issues.
  • Monitor adherence to technical requirements and deliverables as per ITB/contract.
