Data Engineering Lead

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Lead to drive the development of our data engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals to shape our data platforms and take on new challenges.

About the Role:

  • Develop a clear vision for our data platforms to drive business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define priorities and solve complex problems.
  • Design end-to-end data pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, EMR, Kinesis, DynamoDB, and SageMaker.
  • Implement data product storage, processing, and APIs using AWS-native tools and serverless architectures.
  • Use AWS Lake Formation for fine-grained access control and secure data sharing across domains.
  • Architect multi-tenant, domain-oriented data lakes and integrate with Redshift Spectrum / Athena for distributed querying.
  • Apply Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK) for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
  • Drive platform governance, ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
  • Mentor team members on secure coding practices, compliance, and architectural principles.
  • Lead design reviews and technical discussions to ensure secure and scalable implementations.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in platform engineering, data architect, data engineering, or solution architecture.
  • Strong expertise in building scalable, secure, and compliant cloud-native platforms.
  • Proven track record in designing and managing multi-tenant systems on AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud, Big data and Analytics ecosystem (Airflow, Spark, Python, Flink, AWS Batch, S3, Athena, ECS-Fargate, SQS).
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Advanced skills in Terraform (IaC).
  • Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong CI/CD experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
