Head Mine Planning- Coal Mines

Vedanta is a leading aluminium producer, aiming to become the world's largest by 2025. Their $20bn expansion plan involves investing in brownfield and greenfield capacities for Oil & Gas, Renewable energy, display glass, semiconductor, mining, and smelting.

The company's Bauxite and Coal mines vertical plays a crucial role in this endeavour, being strategically poised to create significant value for the aluminium business.

To partner with us on this exciting journey, we are looking for passionate professionals in the position of Head Mine Planning- Coal Mines at Mining Business. This role will be critical for initiating new mines to achieve our vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resource Modelling, Pit Optimization, Scheduling.
  • DPR preparation for the mining blocks.
  • Preparation of Mining Plan (Statutory and operational).
  • Conduct various scoping studies, coordinate and undertake feasibility studies, HEMM requirements.
  • Undertake exploration programme including in-fill drilling to capture desired quality and quantity from the mine.
  • Liaise with various statutory bodies of state and central govt authorities for clearances and approvals for compliances purpose like Mining Plan approval from MOC (Ministry of Coal), ground water NOC from CGWB, DGMS approval.
  • Responsible for providing necessary data inputs required for obtaining Forest and Environmental Clearance.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering with a minimum 60% overall grade.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in similar roles, preferably in project planning & tracking tools like MS Project, Primavera, MS Office, Auto-CAD, documentation management.
  • Strong understanding of statutory clearances and relevant Acts, regulations & Government guidelines.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mining approvals, commencement and mining operations.
