Senior Database Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Database Specialist to lead the design and implementation of highly scalable database solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of database technologies, strong development skills, and knowledge of cloud platforms.


Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and architecture of robust database systems from concept to implementation. This includes creating data models, defining schemas, and ensuring database performance and integrity.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the design and architecture of highly scalable and robust database systems from concept to implementation.
  2. Take full ownership of the end-to-end design and implementation of database solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and performance standards.
  3. Perform database development tasks, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  4. Optimize database performance by tuning queries, managing indexes, and identifying bottlenecks.
  5. Apply knowledge of cloud platforms, specifically AWS or Azure, to design and implement cloud-native database solutions or to migrate on-premise databases to the cloud.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  1. A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in database management, with a strong focus on database architecture, design, and implementation.
  2. Proven expertise in database design, data modeling, and performance tuning for highly scalable systems.
  3. Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and experience with database services on AWS or Azure.
  4. Strong development experience, with proficiency in backend frameworks like FastAPI.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.

Preferred Skills
  1. Knowledge of Python is highly preferred.
  2. Relevant professional certifications from major database vendors (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft, AWS) are a plus.
  3. Experience with big data technologies or NoSQL databases.
