Marine Procurement Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring and managing spare parts, consumables, and technical equipment for vessels. This includes identifying, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and high-quality products.
Main Duties & Responsibilities- Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Source and procure spare parts, consumables, and technical equipment for vessels.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and high-quality products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure reliable support.
- Order Processing & Coordination:
- Process purchase requisitions from vessels and fleet management teams efficiently.
- Ensure accurate and timely order placement, tracking, and follow-ups.
- Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to arrange timely delivery of goods to vessels at ports worldwide.
- Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Support the monitoring and control of procurement budgets.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality or safety.
- Review and verify supplier invoices and ensure accurate documentation for payment processing.
- Ensure timely clearance of invoices in the system and follow up on pending payments.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all procurement activities are in compliance with maritime regulations and classification society requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor agreements.
- Assist during audits related to procurement and inventory management.
- Technical Support & Communication:
- Closely collaborate with vessel superintendents and technical teams to understand and fulfill purchasing requirements.
- Provide alternative solutions when specific parts or equipment are unavailable.
- Keep vessels updated on order status and delivery timelines.
