**Job Title:** Fashion Buyer

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fashion Buyer to join our team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for buying merchandise and coordinating with vendors for designated departments, focusing on high-quality products at optimal prices.
  • This role requires collaboration with the merchandising team to ensure timely deliveries meet assigned purchase orders.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong research skills and be able to identify future product opportunities through analysis of customer needs and technological trends.
  • A key aspect of this role is developing pricing strategies with marketing and management, aiming for optimal agreements with suppliers.
  • The buyer will source the right product at the right time to meet customer requirements.
  • They will also maximize current sourcing channels and discover new opportunities.
  • Supporting negotiations and working with the supply base to achieve best costs and margins is crucial in this position.
  • The buyer will work closely with designers on style development, design research trips, fabric, and print advice.
  • Managing stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns with the merchandising team is essential.
  • The buyer must track competitors' activities through market research to understand trends, forecasting, color, fabric, etc.
  • Product presentation, packaging, and development; creating promotional plans are critical components of this role.
  • Reviewing and adjusting season and weekly plans is necessary to ensure success.
  • Vendor identification and development are key responsibilities.
  • The buyer will obtain merchandise after effective negotiation.
  • Collaborating with marketing and design to develop visual merchandising promotions is an important part of this role.
  • The buyer must ensure timely delivery of samples by vendors.
  • Setting quality standards for merchandise with QA is vital.
  • Reconciling store plans and departmental financial plans is a critical responsibility.
  • Supporting negotiations and achieving best costs and margins with the supply base is essential.

**Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in buying and merchandising.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of fashion industry trends and technologies.
