Job Title: Apparel Designer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and talented apparel designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating innovative and stylish clothing, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Trend Analysis: Conduct thorough research on upcoming trends and validate them with aspirational brands to ensure commercial viability.
  • Colour Board Development: Create a colour board at the beginning of each season by purchasing samples from brands and incorporating their feedback.
  • Market Research: Collaborate with the team to identify emerging trends and styles, then create a presentation to incorporate them into our product range for better business outcomes.
  • Market Benchmarking Report: Develop and share a market benchmarking report after visiting trade shows and marketplaces.
  • Product Selection: Participate in internal reviews with the buying team to select products for our range.
  • Vendor Management: Visit vendors to discuss sample development and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Lab Dip Approvals: Collaborate with suppliers to obtain lab dip approvals for bulk production.
  • Artwork Design: Design artwork for selected styles and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
  • Prototype Review: Review and provide comments on prototype samples with the buyer.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 4-8 years of work experience in apparel design.
  • Prior education or training from reputable institutions such as NIFT or PEARL is preferred.
  • Proficiency in software applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel, and other relevant tools necessary for creating CADs and illustrations.
