Senior Backend Developer

We seek a highly skilled developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise across AWS architecture, Node.js development, and scalable database design.

This role involves designing, building, and optimizing scalable APIs, managing cloud infrastructure, and driving backend innovations in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with frontend teams and integrate seamlessly with mobile apps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain a secure backend system using Node.js and AWS services.
  • Build RESTful APIs to support web applications.
  • Lead infrastructure decisions on AWS (Lambda, ECS, Cognito, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB).
  • Design and optimize relational databases, focusing on performance and indexing.
  • Integrate AI APIs into the backend for moderation and automation workflows.
  • Integrate with payment gateways.
  • Write clean code following modern engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with frontend teams to deliver features aligned with product goals.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and code reviews.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Node.js and Express/NestJS.
  • Proficient with TypeScript, REST API standards, WebSockets, and microservices.
  • Expert knowledge of AWS services: Cognito, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, IAM.
  • Infrastructure as Code: CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of networking, authentication flows, and cloud security best practices.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL solutions like DynamoDB.
  • Ability to design normalized schemas, manage migrations, write optimized queries, and handle data flows.
  • Familiarity with time-series data and analytics DBs is a plus.
  • Integrating with AI APIs is required.
  • Use of AI tools for rapid prototyping and efficiency is desired.
  • Comfortable debugging or extending AI-assisted modules.
  • Experience with unit testing using Jest, Mocha, or similar.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
  • JWT/OAuth2 token handling and RBAC implementation is required.
  • Understanding of data privacy and secure data flows is essential.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills are needed.
  • Product-first thinking and an eye for scalable design are essential.
  • Ability to adapt and extend existing codebase with minimal disruption is required.
  • Comfortable working in Scrum and participating in agile delivery.
