Senior AWS Redshift Database Administrator

In this challenging role, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration of our organization's Redshift clusters and supporting various AWS services. Your expertise in database management will enable us to optimize data organization and ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable cloud environments to support data storage and analytics.
  • Maintain and improve software, services, and applications by identifying system requirements and implementing upgrades.
  • Demonstrate extensive experience with AWS Redshift, AWS RDS, and MySQL, with a focus on query performance tuning and database optimization.
  • Provide hands-on support for AWS Services and DB/Server troubleshooting, ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues.
  • Monitor system performance and maintain environment efficiency through proactive analysis and tuning.
  • Familiarity with day-to-day database operations, deployments, and development is essential, as well as experience with Snowflake and Linux Shell Scripting or Python.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate technical information and support business objectives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
  • At least 6 years of experience in system, platform, and AWS cloud administration.
  • 4+ years of experience in database administration using latest AWS technologies – AWS Redshift, RDS, S3, EC2, NLB, VPC, etc.
  • Experience with Agile software development using JIRA.
  • Strong understanding of multiple OS platforms, with emphasis on Linux and Windows systems.
  • Hands-on experience with OS-level scripting environments, such as KSH shell and PowerShell.
  • Version management tools and CICD pipelines are also expected.
  • Knowledge of security architecture, securing and hardening Operating Systems, Networks, Databases, and Applications.
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), and query performance tuning.
  • Ability to support and optimize data pipelines and data sets.
  • Understanding of Incident Response life cycle.
  • AWS solution architect certifications preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
