Backend Engineering Manager Role
  • About the Position:

We are seeking a seasoned Backend Engineering Manager with expertise in Golang and Python to lead our backend team. The ideal candidate has 9+ years of experience in backend technologies and 2–3 years of proven engineering management experience, having successfully scaled systems, led appraisal cycles, and shipped B2C applications in collaboration with product teams.

Main ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Team Management:
  • Lead and manage a high-performing backend engineering team.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development support.
  • Successfully run performance appraisal cycles with structured feedback and progression planning.
  • Build and maintain a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.
Tech Delivery and Partnerships:
  • Oversee design and development of scalable backend systems.
  • Guide the team in building transactional and behavioral systems.
  • Partner with product managers to scope, prioritize, and release B2C features and applications.
  • Ensure architectural best practices and robust testing practices.
  • Own delivery of projects end-to-end with a focus on scalability, reliability, and business impact.
Operational Excellence and Innovation:
  • Champion observability, monitoring, and reliability across backend services.
  • Continuously improve system performance, scalability, and resilience.
  • Streamline development workflows and engineering processes for speed and quality.
