About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineering Expert to develop and deploy scalable backend services for our global art information platform. In this role, you will work on integrating AI/ML models into production systems, powering features such as recommendations, personalization, and intelligent search.

This position is ideal for someone passionate about backend engineering and excited to bring AI-powered user experiences to life at scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, Build, and Maintain Robust Backend Services: Develop efficient backend services using Python (FastAPI, Django, or Flask) to meet the demands of our global art information platform.
  • Integrate Machine Learning Models: Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate machine learning models into production APIs and pipelines for recommendations and personalization.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product teams to deliver AI-driven features that enhance user experiences.
  • Develop Low-Latency APIs: Design and implement low-latency APIs for serving recommendations and intelligent results.
  • Work with Vector Databases: Leverage vector databases (Qdrant, Pinecone, Elasticsearch, etc.) to power similarity search and embeddings.
  • Deploy, Monitor, and Scale Services: Deploy, monitor, and scale services in cloud environments (AWS preferred) to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Contribute to System Architecture: Participate in system architecture, performance optimization, and design decisions to drive business growth.

Requirements:

  • Strong Understanding of Backend Architecture: Possess a deep understanding of backend architecture and distributed systems.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrate a proven track record of building and deploying production-ready APIs.
  • Experience with ML Models: Have experience integrating ML models or AI services into backend infrastructure.
  • Cloud Expertise: Possess hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
  • Database Expertise: Have expertise in databases: SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (Redis, Elasticsearch).
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and collaboration skills in remote team settings.

  • Recommendation Systems: Have experience with recommendation systems or personalization pipelines.
  • Vector Databases: Familiarity with vector databases and embedding-based search.
