Key Engineering Hire

We're seeking a high-caliber Tech Lead to drive the development of our technology stack.

This role is at an inflection point, transitioning from proven MVP stacks to on-ground pilots and national scale. As our Technical Lead Engineer, you will be a key engineering hire working alongside senior technical leaders.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership position where you will:

  • Design and build core systems from scratch (backend, APIs, orchestration engines, infrastructure).
  • Shape architecture decisions that will define the platform for years to come.
  • Oversee the transition from pilot to scale (500 riders → 50,000 riders).
  • Work across the stack: backend (Go, Python, Node), infrastructure (AWS, Terraform, Redis, OSRM), and app integrations (React Native, APIs).
  • Influence technical culture, standards, and team-building efforts.

This is not a pure 'developer' role — it's an opportunity to be a co-creator of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Core Systems Development: Own and develop services like Orchestrator, droneAI APIs, and rider ops tooling.
  • Infrastructure & DevOps: Deploy and manage AWS infrastructure (RDS, Redis, OSRM servers, ECS/Fargate, VPCs, CI/CD pipelines).
  • AI/ML Integration: Productionize demand prediction, rider assignment, and fleet balancing models.
  • 0 → 1 Execution: Translate architecture into production code, maintaining simplicity and reliability.
  • Ownership & Leadership: Define best practices, review code, and grow into a leadership role as the team scales.

What We're Looking For

  • 5–8 years of experience building and shipping backend systems (Go and Python strongly preferred).
  • A strong grasp of distributed systems, microservices, and API design.
  • Experience with AWS stack: EC2, RDS/Postgres, Redis, networking basics (VPC, NAT, IGW).
  • Comfort with DevOps (Terraform, GitHub Actions, Docker, ECS).
  • Bonus: Geospatial systems (H3, OSRM, Redis Geo), real-time platforms, or ML inference integration.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset: excited about ownership, ambiguity, and speed over perfection.
