Research Intern for Climate Change and Energy Transition

About this opportunity:

The Center for Climate Change and Energy Transition is seeking a highly skilled Research Intern to support our mission of advancing sustainable energy solutions, environmental stewardship, and climate resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research and data analysis to inform global climate policies.
  • Lead the creation of analytical research reports, policy papers, discussion papers, and articles of the highest quality and relevance.
  • Collect and analyze data from various sources to support research initiatives.
  • Oversee projects and discussions, including planning and coordination responsibilities.
  • Establish networks with industry participants and collaborate with partners to enhance events and communication efforts.
  • Search and review published literature on research topics.
  • Supervise undergraduate project interns or other personnel on research-related tasks.
  • Assist with manuscript or grant development.
  • Prepare reports or presentations.
  • Organize events, seminars, and workshops.
  • Moderate academic discussions and policy dialogues.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, including engineering or energy economics.
  • PhD in the given domain is an added advantage.
  • 0-1 years of work experience.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Desirable: econometric models, energy, and/or economic models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and research software is preferred.
  • Ability to work/lead as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple research projects simultaneously.
  • Strong relationship skills and team ethics.
  • Excellent written and verbal (interpersonal and public speaking) communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new environments and deliver under tight deadlines in a professional environment.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team while being able to independently drive research with minimum assistance when time demands.
  • Willingness to travel for research and stakeholder engagement.
