Risk Analytics Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Analytics Consultant to join our team at Wells Fargo Bank. As a key member of our Risk Management team, you will be responsible for participating in complex analysis and modeling initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and developing expertise in policy governance and risk projects.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in complex analysis and modeling initiatives to identify opportunities for process improvement and develop expertise in policy governance and risk projects.
- Review and analyze programming models to extract data and manipulate databases to provide statistical and financial modeling.
- Coordinate and consolidate the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for senior management.
- Present recommendations for resolving data reconciliation, production, and database issues.
- Exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in policy governance, risk projects, and regulatory requests.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, managers, and compliance teams to ensure effective risk management practices.
- 2+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Contribute to the creation and ongoing maintenance of the Cognos business intelligence function aligned to loan loss forecasting and related analytics Credit Risk Management.
- Collaborate with existing teams to define requirements to support various partners in Credit Risk, Finance/Controller, Audit, Control Oversight, Line of Business, Technology, and Testing teams.
- Responsible for production process execution, data reconciliation, and documentation in alignment with governance policies.
- Research and remediate data, production, and control issues in partnership with other SMEs and teams.
- Meet business intelligence deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of risk reporting policies, Credit Risk procedures, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Lead projects and mentor less experienced staff.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, finance, or computer sciences.
- Relevant experience in the Banking & Financial Services Industry domain.
- Relevant experience creating artifacts such as procedure documents, flow charts, and control evidence.
- 3+ years of experience in Cognos Analytics 11.x or higher.
- Strong analytics skills and understanding of loan portfolio products and risk drivers.
- Ability to lead projects and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge and understanding of Commercial/Consumer Lending practices, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of the key factors impacting credit offerings, including credit risks and regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of risk management practices, extensive knowledge of financial data.
- Demonstrated proficient Cognos BI or Cognos Analytics report development experience.
- Experience with dimensional report development within Cognos Analytics.
- Strong understanding of multidimensional cubes and experience reporting from them.
- Strong understanding of other Cognos BI Tools.
- Familiarity with Cognos security administration.
- Familiarity with Cognos Planning Analytics/TM1 and comfort using TM1 Perspectives or TM1 Architect.
- Experience with other BI tools and software.
- Proficient experience in identifying and evaluating data trends, isolating root cause, and providing swift/thorough resolution.
- Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
- Strong ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
- Strong understanding of Data warehouse and business intelligence concepts and best practices.
