Global Import Specialist

The role of an Assistant Manager in our organization involves overseeing the import and export process to ensure timely deliveries and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate with vendors to negotiate better prices and establish strong relationships for future collaborations.
- Delegate tasks to CHA/Freight forwarders to manage import/export shipments efficiently.
- Stay updated on industry trends and developments to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Ensure smooth shipment planning by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor real-time shipment tracking to address any issues promptly.
- Negotiate Service Level Agreements with service providers to guarantee successful execution of shipments.
- Oversee customs clearance and vendor payments according to agreed payment terms.
- Maintain accurate SAP entries and book expenses correctly against relevant GL codes for reconciliation purposes.
- A graduate degree in any discipline, preferably in Science, with a Master's in Supply Chain Management.
- 5-8 years of experience in supply chain functions within the chemical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of EXIM policies and international trade regulations.
- Familiarity with logistics, warehouse management, and statutory compliance.
