Cloud Cost Optimization Specialist

About xOps is a shared services organization providing a range of operational services to various divisions. We offer public cloud access and billing, common infrastructure and security services, consulting and application operations, and a suite of DevOps tools hosted for the enterprise.

Job PurposeWe are seeking a skilled Cloud Cost Optimization Specialist who can add value to our cloud cost management services that we provide to various divisions within the organization. The Specialist will evaluate detailed cloud cost data, create visualizations, and generate reports to enable a cost-efficient culture within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze cloud cost and usage data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to maintain dashboards and reports to visualize cloud cost data and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with various divisions including the Product, Data, and Design teams to understand their data needs and provide relevant insights.
  • Develop and implement strategies for cost management and optimization in cloud environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficient in data analysis and visualization tools such as Domo, Tableau, or Power BI (Domo preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with RDBMS like MySQL, MSSQL, or Oracle.
  • Experience working with cloud cost management tools and services within AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to quickly and independently learn about and apply new technologies.
