Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to assume the role of Strategic Projects and Collaboration Manager within our Ocean Procurement team. This position plays a pivotal part in our Transported by Maersk (TbM) and Asset Strategy and Strategic Partnerships (ASSP) organization, reporting directly to the Regional Head of Ocean Procurement for the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa (IMEA).

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Strategic Terminal Partnering Portfolio, which includes the regional terminal strategy and in-house APMM investments in IMEA. The objective is to expand collaboration with existing third-party and APMT locations across terminals, resulting in optimized group Ocean Reliability and synergistic value.

This involves implementing projects that enhance logistics and services developments, strengthening our Group's value proposition for customers. Additionally, the successful candidate will interact with various functions, including Ocean Fulfillment teams, Contract Management, Finance Business Partners, and leadership teams locally and globally.

The selected individual will also work closely with APM Terminals Corporate Development (CDV) teams on closely linked agendas, focusing on five archetypes of in-house collaboration projects: investing in new terminals, expanding existing terminals, extending concessions, consolidating APMT facilities, and other relevant investments.

Apart from managing the Ocean terminals collaboration agenda, the Strategic Projects and Collaboration Manager will have the opportunity to participate in and provide input to the network design based on market developments and terminal networks. This ensures a cost-optimal deployment of assets in line with contractual landscapes and APMT presence.

We are looking for a highly skilled professional who can think beyond cost and focus on long-term value-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, as well as strong project management abilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing terminal roadmaps and charting long-term terminal portfolios for Maersk TbM in IME and Africa
  • Managing joint projects with APMT, securing compliance of procurement priorities, such as service level agreements, contract compliance, and Integrator strategies
  • Cooperating with APMT CDV locally and globally, conducting assessments for new investments and divestments, and providing information and analysis on terminal competitiveness and future network demands
  • Maximizing the value of Maersk's ocean beyond terminals business agendas, identifying opportunities for logistics and services developments that strengthen our Group's value proposition for customers
  • Assisting the Head of IMEA Ocean Procurement in strategic negotiations, without overlap with APMT presence in given port complexes

Requirements:
