Lead Engineer

As a Senior Hardware Development Manager, you will be responsible for defining specifications and requirements for product hardware. You will conduct hardware design and firmware control reviews with a focus on high-level system integration.

1. Define Specifications and Requirements: Develop detailed specifications and requirements for product hardware to ensure high-quality results.
2. Conduct Design Reviews: Review hardware designs and firmware controls with a focus on system integration, ensuring seamless interactions between components.
3. Monitor Development and Create Test Plans: Oversee development progress and create comprehensive test plans to verify electrical, environmental, and functional compliance.
4. Perform FMEA Analysis: Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to evaluate reliability and identify potential safety or liability concerns.
5. Coordinate Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to track milestones, manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and oversee product life cycle management.
6. Mentor Team Members: Guide team members in adhering to established technical standards during product development, ensuring consistency and quality.
7. Research New Concepts: Identify innovative ideas to drive future product innovation, exploring new technologies and concepts.
8. Validate Design Concepts: Use circuit simulations and prototyping to validate design concepts, ensuring they meet technical requirements.
9. Prepare Documentation: Develop comprehensive documentation, including bills of materials, circuit diagrams, simulations, and design-related documents.

• Master's Degree in Power Electronics: A master's degree in power electronics or a related field is required, along with 8-12 years of experience in the field.
• Closed-Loop Control Expertise: Strong understanding of closed-loop control for power converters and compensator design is essential.
• High-Speed Semiconductor Devices: Experience working with high-speed or high-power semiconductor devices, particularly in power converter designs over 100kVA and medium voltage applications.
• Technical Knowledge and System-Level Design Experience: Solid technical knowledge, competence, and system-level design experience are crucial.
• Project Management: Proven track record of managing multiple power electronics projects involving analog and digital electronics as well as control circuitry.
• EMI Filter Design: Experience in EMI filter design and product qualification/compliance testing is necessary.
• Circuit Simulation Tools: Familiarity with circuit simulation tools like SIMULINK is required.
• Derating, FMEA, and Reliability Analysis: Skills in derating, FMEA, and reliability analysis are essential.
• Circuit Debugging and Troubleshooting: Excellent circuit debugging and troubleshooting capabilities are necessary.
• Technical Document Writing: Experience writing technical documents such as hardware requirements, product design specifications, test specifications, and board-level design details.
• Component Selection and System Integration: Strong knowledge of component selection and system integration is required.
• Communication Skills: Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written, are necessary.
• Mentoring and Decision-Making: Experience mentoring small teams with strong decision-making capabilities and the ability to work effectively in an agile product development model.
