Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing the organization's programme portfolio by designing, steering and scaling impactful initiatives. They will focus on effective planning, cross-sectoral integration and outcome-oriented delivery.

The role involves programme planning and strategy, programme management, partnership development, team support and development, and monitoring and learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of long-term strategies and annual plans for programme themes.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation to strengthen impact.
  • Oversee select programme areas to ensure timely, high-quality delivery in line with agreed goals.
  • Provide guidance to project teams to strengthen operational efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Engage with implementing agencies, knowledge partners and peer organizations to strengthen programme outcomes.
  • Represent the organization in external forums as required.
  • Provide mentoring support to mid-level team members to help them grow into leadership roles.
  • Encourage a collaborative culture that values learning and accountability.
  • Ensure effective systems for tracking progress, capturing lessons and adapting strategies.
  • Support preparation of reports, presentations and knowledge products.

Required Qualifications:

Qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in social sciences, development studies, public policy or a related discipline.

At least 12-15 years of relevant experience in programme design, management or evaluation within the development sector, including experience in leadership roles.

Strong leadership and team management skills, ability to develop and manage multi-stakeholder partnerships, excellent communication and analytical abilities, demonstrated capacity to think strategically and translate plans into results, and ability to work effectively in diverse cultural and social contexts are essential.
