**Job Overview**

The Senior Design Engineer will perform various engineering tasks in planning and designing products to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Use established standard products and unique product options.
  • Process complex production engineering orders.
  • Resolve production order issues and address deviations.
  • Process engineering change orders.
  • Assess and disposition recommendations for product discrepancies.
  • Support special projects.
  • Prepare concept layouts and drawings.
  • Set up Bills of Materials.
  • Conduct body layout tolerance studies.
  • Solve complex problems and engineering challenges independently.
  • Document design process and test results.
  • Prepare regular reports.
  • Create new product standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 8-12 years of experience in Bus Body Design Engineering or Diploma with 9-13 years of experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of truck body design elements and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of truck body regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient use of design tools and systems.
  • Working knowledge of design principles such as Data Analysis, DOE, GD&T, FMEA, DFM/DFA.
  • Mechanical aptitude and design efficiency.
  • Able to work with teams and engage in hands-on activities.
  • Proficient in drafting/design related computer software (2D and 3D).
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Product knowledge developed/expended.
