Overview

The Senior Bakery Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bakery kitchen. Reporting directly to the Sous Chef, this role demands a high level of expertise in baking production processes and exceptional leadership skills.

Job Description

This position involves:

  • Preparing food for daily operations while maintaining quality, hygiene, and safety standards;
  • Organizing and executing mise en place for current and next shifts with precision and accuracy;
  • Collaborating with front-end and production teams to manage special/custom orders effectively;
  • Managing inventory by planning and preparing the Raw Material Indent Chart for the next day in coordination with the store team;
  • Ensuring seamless transitions by delegating preparation tasks for the next shift and creating a duty roster for assigned staff members;
  • Acting as an extension of the Sous Chef during their absence, guaranteeing continuous workflow and maintaining high levels of product quality, consistency, and hygiene.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

  • At least 4-5 years of experience in a bakery or hotel kitchen environment, preferably with supervisory experience;
  • A certification or diploma in Bakery or Culinary Arts is highly desirable;
  • Profound knowledge of bakery production processes, raw materials, and food safety standards;
  • Excellent leadership, planning, communication, and coordination skills;
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team towards achieving shared goals;
  • Familiarity with HACCP and standard hygiene protocols.
