Public Affairs Role

This position is a full-time opportunity to lead our organization's communication strategy with the public, media and institutions/agencies, while supporting policy initiatives.

  • We are seeking an experienced professional to design, execute and evaluate communication programs and public information campaigns that advance our goals and public understanding.
  • The selected candidate will serve as the main contact for media inquiries, prepare press releases, respond to public and press questions, and monitor media coverage of our activities.
  • Representing our organization at institutions, policy makers, civic, and community meetings is also a key responsibility.
  • This role advises management on policy formulation, assesses potential public reactions to proposed actions, and assists in articulating policy statements.
  • The successful candidate will prepare newsletters, brochures, presentations, social media materials, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Research, analysis of public opinion and regulatory trends, and preparation of impact assessments and recommendations for senior leaders are also key responsibilities.
  • This position involves organizing outreach activities, educational initiatives, facility tours, public events, and emergency preparedness communications.
  • Tracking public and media perceptions, recommending improvements for communication effectiveness, and reporting findings to management are additional responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for public, media, and internal audiences are essential.
  • Strategic thinking and advocacy skills to drive our interests in complex stakeholder environments are required.
  • The ability to analyze, interpret, and present information in ways that foster understanding and build support for our policies is crucial.
  • Project management and event coordination abilities for public outreach and educational programming are also necessary.
  • An MBA/Management in Public Affairs or related educational experience/certifications is preferred.
