Job Title: Director of Journal Publishing

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our journal publishing efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the scientific manuscript publication process from peer review to publication.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in academic or scientific publishing, with a proven track record of managing complex workflows and leading cross-functional teams. Your expertise in digital publishing technologies, content management systems, and workflow automation tools will enable you to optimize our publishing processes and improve quality and efficiency.

In this role, you will work closely with our editorial and production teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of publications. You will also identify areas for improvement and implement initiatives to increase throughput and reduce publication timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the journal publishing team to ensure efficient operations
  • Oversee the complete manuscript workflow from peer review to publication
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain high-quality standards across all published content
Requirements
  • Master's or Ph.D. in life sciences
  • 10+ years of experience in academic or scientific publishing
  • 7+ years of proven management experience
  • Strong understanding of peer review, open access trends, and evolving scientific publishing models
  • Digital publishing technologies, Content Management System (CMS), and workflow automation tools
