Position Overview

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely completion and accuracy of Accounting Operations, specifically within the General Ledger and Local statutory reporting areas for the Bayer Group of Companies. This position will contribute significantly to the reliability of the financial records, enabling external auditors to provide certification.

Key Responsibilities
  • General Ledger: Initiate and manage requests for GL accounts according to established procedures, monitor journal voucher requests, track accruals and provisions as per local book balances, and ensure compliance with Withholding Tax regulations.
  • Closing: Conduct monthly and quarterly expense analysis, scrutinize expenses, and collaborate with internal stakeholders on audit requirements, including coordination with Group Actuary and HR Department for valuation of Long-Term Employee Benefit provision.
  • Reporting: Prepare XBRL reports as prescribed by the Local Authority for local statutory financials, review XBRL reporting, and ensure adherence to specific formats.
  • Audit and Control Others: Develop quarterly and annual variation analysis, create audit schedules based on requirement lists, liaise with Auditors on audit needs, and assist in preparing materials for board meetings.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant with 1-2 years of experience in Accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or marketing company, holding articleship experience in a reputable CA firm. The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of local GAAP and laws, basic understanding of subgroup-specific accounting practices, strong interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, and fluency in English (writing and speaking). Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
