Job Description

Our organization is seeking a skilled Retention Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for preventing user churn and reactivating lapsed listeners.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of why users churn and develop strategies to save them or bring them back. This is a hands-on role that requires problem-solving skills, creativity, and analytical thinking.

The Retention Specialist will work closely with the data team to leverage predictive models and analyze data to identify at-risk users. They will also engage directly with these users through surveys and interviews to uncover the root causes of dissatisfaction.

Based on this analysis, the Retention Specialist will design and launch targeted campaigns to re-engage at-risk users before they cancel their subscription.

In addition, the Retention Specialist will own win-back campaigns, architecting and managing end-to-end strategies to bring back churned subscribers.

They will segment users based on past listening behavior and time since churn, craft irresistible win-back hooks, and test different offers and messaging channels to build a playbook of the most cost-effective methods for reactivating different user cohorts.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 4-7 years of experience in churn management, user reactivation, or save strategies within a B2C subscription or mobile app business.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, creativity, and analytical thinking.
  • Direct experience building, launching, and optimizing campaigns using marketing automation platforms (e.g., MoEngage, Clevertap, Braze).
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and experience with product analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude, Google Analytics).
  • Ability to design and interpret A/B tests to get clear, actionable answers.
  • Passion for music and audio, with a genuine interest in understanding what makes users stay.
