Amazon seeks a Strategic Vendor Growth Manager to oversee Enhanced Instock Services (EIS) within the US Books team. EIS is a service designed to assist Amazon’s most strategic vendors in achieving supply chain operational excellence. The service primarily operates through Inventory Specialists assigned to specific vendors. Amazon has ambitious plans for this service's future, focusing on business impact for vendors and categories, operational scalability, and vendor satisfaction.

As a Strategic Vendor Growth Manager, you will be responsible for delivering impact to a large group of strategic vendors both directly and through a team of Inventory Specialists reporting to you. Your priority will be to deliver on our commitment to help vendors improve their performance across key retail metrics, ensure their satisfaction with the service, and continuously enhance the productivity of your team. You will work closely with Instock Managers to understand vendor needs and define suitable goals and targets. Regular meetings with business and functional leaders are expected to guide decision-making and secure necessary support.

You should be passionate about managing and developing people, highly analytical, resourceful, and customer-focused. A proven track record of delivering results in fast-paced business environments while managing sometimes conflicting stakeholder needs is essential.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to drive business growth while fostering a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Instock Managers and retail category functions to prioritize and set operational objectives based on vendor requirements
  • Own relationships with the most critical vendors enrolled in EIS
  • Develop joint business plans and drive positive outcomes for directly owned vendors
  • Manage a team of Inventory Specialists, overseeing joint business plans for a substantial pool of vendors, and contribute significantly to business success
  • Audit metrics regularly to drive quality improvements in vendor and employee experiences across multiple sub-categories
  • Determine the necessary skills within the team to effectively support vendors facing unique challenges
  • Develop the required skillset within the team and allocate resources accordingly
  • Cultivate talent pools for Amazon and foster career growth
  • Work Schedule: 8am PST to 5pm PST (Mon-Fri)
  • We adhere to Amazon's global Return to Office (RTO) guidelines

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in account management or supply chain
  • Professional experience influencing internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven expertise in hiring, training, and managing teams
  • Proficiency in analytical tools such as Excel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Statistics, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, or Engineering
  • MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with effective prioritization, planning, and task delegation
  • Experience in supply chain, inventory management, finance, vendor, or project management
  • Capacity to think critically and react quickly in high-energy, fast-paced environments
  • Proficiency in analysis tools including Microsoft Excel, SQL, and statistics software
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects with cross-functional involvement

Based on national averages and industry standards, the estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Please note that this is an estimate and actual salaries may vary based on individual circumstances. Considerations such as location, experience, and qualifications will influence the final compensation package.
