GIS Data Migration Expert

We are seeking a seasoned professional with expertise in GIS data migration to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex GIS data migration projects, particularly in the utilities sector.

About the Role:

  • Lead and execute GIS data migration projects with a focus on Utility Network implementations, ensuring seamless integration and high-quality delivery.
  • Design, build, and optimize FME workspaces and workflows for geospatial data migration, transformation, and automation, maximizing efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and implement data migration strategies from legacy network models to modern ArcGIS Utility Network or other utility GIS platforms, guaranteeing accuracy and consistency.
  • Analyze utility datasets (electric, water, gas, telecom) to ensure accurate schema mapping and topology validation, minimizing errors and downtime.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and client stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality delivery, fostering strong relationships and open communication.
  • Maintain data integrity, quality, and performance across migration workflows, leveraging domain knowledge and technical expertise.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex migration and integration issues, applying creative problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members in FME, GIS data migration, and Utility Network best practices, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation for workflows, processes, and project delivery, ensuring clarity and transparency.
