Oracle Database Migration Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Migration Specialist to lead our database migration initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire migration lifecycle, ensuring seamless delivery and minimal downtime.

  • Lead the end-to-end migration process, assessing and planning migrations, executing validation, and post-migration optimization.
  • Develop and drive migration strategies, methodologies, and best practices, focusing on zero/near-zero downtime, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Migrate Oracle databases across various platforms, including Data Center-to-Data Center, AWS-to-AWS, Azure-to-Azure, Oracle Exadata, and Oracle ExaCC environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and execute migrations using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring and migration validation.
  • Implement delta data synchronization strategies for near-zero downtime migration.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects, infrastructure teams, and application owners to ensure smooth migration with minimal business disruption.
  • Document migration runbooks, rollback procedures, and knowledge transfer.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 10+ years of Oracle Database experience, with 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles overseeing database migration programs.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle migrations in multi-cloud, Exadata, and ExaCC environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with Rubrik for backup, restore, and DR integration and RMAN for backup/recovery, delta sync, cloning, and duplication.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of GoldenGate for real-time replication.
  • Familiarity with Terraform/Ansible for IaC-based DB provisioning.
