Oracle DB Migration Lead

Job Description:

The Oracle Database Specialist is responsible for database migration across Data Center and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Oracle Exadata and Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) environments, including backup/recovery, replication, and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end migration lifecycle across assessment, planning, execution, validation, and post-migration optimization.
  • Define and drive migration strategy, methodologies, and best practices (zero/near-zero downtime, HA/DR).
  • Plan, design, and execute Oracle database migrations across various environments, including Data Center-to-Data Center, AWS-to-AWS cloud setups, Azure-to-Azure cloud setups, Oracle Exadata (Exadata to Exadata, Exadata to ExaCC), and Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) environments.

The ideal candidate will possess 12+ years of Oracle Database experience, with 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles overseeing database migration programs.

Mandatory Skills:
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle migrations in multi-cloud, Exadata, and ExaCC environments.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning, Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) implementation and management, Oracle Data Guard setup, switchover, failover, and role transitions, Rubrik for backup, restore, and DR integration, RMAN for backup/recovery, delta sync, cloning, and duplication, OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) for monitoring and migration validation.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native database solutions in AWS (RDS, EC2, S3) and Azure (Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Recovery Vaults).
Bonus Points:
  • Knowledge of GoldenGate for real-time replication.
  • Familiarity with Terraform/Ansible for IaC-based DB provisioning.
  • Experience in hybrid migration scenarios (on-prem to Exadata, Exadata to ExaCC, ExaCC to cloud).
