Database Administrator Role

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure group, you will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and administration of our MongoDB database. This includes ensuring maximum availability and performance, designing and implementing sharding and indexing strategies, configuring and monitoring replica sets, and performing patch upgrades.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Database Deployment: Deploy and maintain MongoDB/Atlas database projects to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database design, architecture, and setups to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Backup and Recovery: Establish procedures for backup, recovery, and disaster recovery to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Performance Optimization: Administer MongoDB to achieve maximum availability and performance by designing and implementing sharding and indexing strategies.
  • Replica Sets: Configure and monitor replica sets to ensure data consistency and redundancy.
  • Patch Management: Perform patch upgrades to keep our database systems up-to-date with the latest security patches and features.
  • Operational Infrastructure: Design and build operational infrastructure to support our databases, automating where possible to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Security: Establish database security procedures to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
  • User Management: Create users, assign roles, and manage permissions to ensure secure and controlled access to our database systems.
  • Professional Development: Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and standards to stay up-to-date with best practices and emerging technologies.
