Key Automotive Electronics Leadership Role

Job Overview

The role of Automotive Embedded Hardware Director is to oversee the technical delivery of automotive electronics hardware for global vehicle OEMs. This includes instrument clusters, in-vehicle infotainment systems, cameras, information displays, and cockpit electronics controllers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical hardware design tasks independently, reviewing customer specifications and ensuring compliance to requirements.
  • Design and develop automotive products with microcontrollers, System-on-Chips (SOCs), high-speed memory, LVDS, FPD Link-III circuitry, and high-speed designs for automotive applications.
  • Develop microprocessor and DSP digital cores, audio, camera, and video signals, analog and digital control logic, linear and switching power supplies, for automotive applications.
  • Perform worst-case analysis and simulations to ensure compliance to customer requirements.
  • Support product design reviews, creating and maintaining schematic and assembly drawings within the change management structure.
  • Develop and maintain electrical Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Generate electrical information for ECAD (Electronic Computer-Aided Design) for PCB layout and support ECAD designers.
  • Support hardware prototype builds, create product verification plans, and perform testing.
  • Support Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and validation testing.
  • Utilize structured problem-solving techniques for test failure resolution.
  • Presentation of product design, analysis, and testing to customers.
  • Experience with lab equipment, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, and multi-meters.
