ITOM CMDB Delivery Specialist Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Operations Management (ITOM) Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Delivery Specialist to oversee the implementation and optimization of the CMDB within our ITOM framework.

About this Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to join our team and make a meaningful impact on our organization's IT operations. As an ITOM CMDB Delivery Specialist, you will be responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and delivery of the CMDB solution to meet business and technical requirements.

You will define, maintain, and enforce CMDB processes and governance for managing configuration items (CIs). You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements for CMDB structure, workflows, and integration with other ITOM tools.

Your expertise in data governance and quality assurance will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data within the CMDB. You will perform regular audits and updates of the CMDB to ensure it remains aligned with infrastructure and service changes.

You will establish data quality standards and work with teams to improve data consistency. Your experience in configuration item modeling will enable you to develop and manage a robust CI model that accurately reflects the underlying IT services and infrastructure.

You will maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure the model accurately represents the environment. Your skills in integrating with ITOM tools will allow you to collaborate with other ITOM teams to integrate the CMDB with relevant IT tools, such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy.

You will ensure proper configuration of data sources and automated population of CIs. You will create detailed documentation, including process workflows, integration diagrams, and training materials for end-users. You will provide regular reports on CMDB status, data quality, and performance to management.

You will work closely with Change and Release Management teams to ensure that changes to CIs are tracked and documented properly within the CMDB. You will assist in the development of processes for CI versioning and tracking.

You will provide training and support to stakeholders in the use of the CMDB and associated processes. You will act as a subject matter expert (SME) for CMDB-related queries and troubleshooting.
