Senior Ferroalloys Reporter

We seek an experienced journalist to join our global editorial team in a senior price reporting role focused on the ferroalloys and bulk ores markets, with a particular emphasis on India.

The successful candidate will report to the Ferroalloys Associate Director and collaborate with industry-leading journalists and price reporters.

  • Deliver weekly ferroalloys and bulk ore price reports, concentrating on the Indian market.
  • Contribute to launching new ferroalloys and bulk ores price assessments, defining price specifications, and gathering market feedback.
  • Produce news content on the ferroalloys and bulk ores markets, working closely with reporters in Africa and Europe.
  • Create periodic pieces on topical industry issues, such as regulatory developments, geopolitical factors, investment opportunities, project pipelines, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations.

Maintain strong relationships with clients and industries, ideally leveraging existing connections from prior roles. Continually share and source market intelligence.

Engage actively in business development, supporting OPIS' account managers in the sales process through maintaining sales pipelines and contributing to the sales process.

About You
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in the steel or steel raw materials industries and/or markets is required.
  • Prior experience in covering ferroalloys, bulk ores, or related markets as a journalist, analyst, or price reporter is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrable impact and influence abilities are necessary.
  • Strong quantitative skills are advantageous.
  • Exemplary written communication skills are required.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail are necessary.
