How You Will Contribute:

CIENA's Optical Networks products portfolio includes a broad family of products for Aggregation, Metro, and Core networks of Telecom Carriers and GCNs. You will play a vital role in advancing our automation-focused test strategies, developing feature & solution test strategies, test plans, and test execution for Ciena's Optical Network products.

Evaluate System requirements & Functional specifications and develop comprehensive solution test plans to validate customer use-cases and product capabilities. Develop automation scripts using Automation Framework to validate customer use case scenarios and workflows. Execute system level tests for network elements using fully automated, semi-automated, and manual test methods, providing coverage across all North bound user interfaces. Analyze and characterize defects found during test execution and work closely with the design on debugging and closure of issues. Plan and build test lab environments for solution-level test execution. Conduct knowledge sharing sessions on Core Optical networks technologies.

The Must-Haves:

Bachelors or Masters in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or Optical Communications with 6+ years of relevant experience in system test in the telecommunications domain. Expertise in OTN Transport and Automation Development. Fluent in automation language such as Python for test automation. Ability to understand customers' needs, expectations, and perspective. Knowledge of Transport Network Design of Telecom Service Providers and Content Provider Networks, and experience of working with R&D team on product defects in Customer Networks. Experience in test effort estimation and captive planning based on Requirement Specifications. Proficient in Test Planning to validate Telecom Network Solutions and Use Case Scenarios. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience of working closely with design engineers for debugging of product defects. Strong communication and inter-personal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with a global multi-site team environment. Proficient with a wide range of test equipment and Knowledge of relevant ITU-T, IETF, IEEE and ANSI standards.
