Senior Java Developer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in build tools and a passion for automation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for migrating our existing Ant-based build system to either Maven or Gradle, while preserving the current project structure. They will also play a key role in establishing a robust CI/CD pipeline within GitHub to streamline our development and deployment processes.

Responsibilities

  • Build Tool Migration:
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of the current Ant build system to identify dependencies, tasks, and project structure.
  • Migrate the build system to either Maven or Gradle, ensuring minimal disruption to the development workflow.
  • Maintain the existing project structure for compiled and built files to avoid compatibility issues.
  • Optimize the build process for performance and efficiency.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Implementation:
  • Design and implement a comprehensive CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions.
  • Integrate the CI/CD pipeline with the chosen build tool (Maven or Gradle).
  • Implement automated testing, code quality checks, and deployment stages.
  • Configure pipeline triggers and notifications for effective collaboration.
  • Java Development:
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Java-based applications.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure project success.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Java programming language.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ant build tool and experience in migrating to Maven or Gradle.
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency in version control systems (Git).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with other build tools (Maven, Gradle).
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker).
