Cybersecurity Engineer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement and maintain robust security measures across our systems, networks and data.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management and security best practices. You will collaborate closely with IT, DevOps and Compliance teams to ensure comprehensive cybersecurity across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Security Solutions: Safeguard IT infrastructure, applications and data from cyber threats.
  • Monitor Networks and Systems: Detect security breaches, anomalies and threats to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Vulnerability Assessments and Penetration Testing: Identify vulnerabilities and strengthen security defenses.
  • Incident Response Planning: Develop and lead response to security incidents to minimize downtime and damage.
  • Risk Assessments and Mitigation Strategies: Perform regular risk assessments and recommend strategies to mitigate potential threats.
  • Security Tool Configuration and Management: Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs and other security tools to ensure robust protection.
  • DevSecOps Integration: Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to integrate security into DevSecOps practices.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Cybersecurity Awareness and Education: Educate employees and developers on cybersecurity awareness and secure coding practices to prevent cyber threats.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong understanding of network, application and cloud security concepts.
  • Experience with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls and vulnerability scanners.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell etc.).
  • Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, Tenable, Qualys, Wireshark etc.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CEH, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, OSCP or GIAC.
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience in Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) practices.
  • Knowledge of container security (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Zero Trust Architecture.
