Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager

Wells Fargo is seeking a skilled Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct complex credit investigations and analyze diverse credit information for loans.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the scope of responsibilities or functional area.
- Review and identify basic operational assignments that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives while exercising independent judgment to guide medium-risk deliverables.
- Present recommendations for resolving complex situations and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate and consult with functional colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders, including internal and external customers.
- Quality-check elements applicable per Business Procedures, highlight discrepancies, update checklists, and report observations.
- End-to-end responsibility for client requests, including financial spreading in MRA tools, analyzing financial statements, identifying trends, and providing financial commentaries on cause and effect.
- Prepare projected financial statements as per relationship manager requirements.
- Complete pro forma adjustments based on projected financial information as per requirements.
- Interpret and spread financials of different companies belonging to different divisions as per business requirements.
- Assess the repayment capacity of highly leveraged borrowers.
- Handle subjectivity in financial analysis/spreading and substantiate with reasons.
- 2+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Flexibility in switching roles between Processors/DSO/QC at any point during the day/month as per business requirements.
- Ability to take additional responsibilities and ensure smooth execution without compromising quality and timelines.
- Act as a coach or mentor to facilitate learning from experience as required.
- Facilitate communication to resolve problems and advance strategies.
- Make significant contributions toward achieving team goals through knowledge and skills.
- Lead or champion efforts to increase productivity and goal accomplishment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and finance, industry analysis, internal and external risk factors of borrowers.
- Experience in assessing credit worthiness of borrowers based on qualitative and quantitative factors.
- Strong knowledge of preparation and analysis of projected and pro forma-based financial statements.
- Sound knowledge of ratio analysis, cash flow, and trend analysis.
- Experience of financial spreading across all industries.
- Sound knowledge of Moody's Risk Analytics (MRA) (added advantage).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP Accounting/International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Ability to read and analyze financial statements.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, primarily MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to stretch as per business requirements.
