We are seeking an experienced English teacher to join our team at Good Shepherd International School in Ooty, India. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the IB curriculum and experience teaching Higher Level English.
Job DescriptionThis is a full-time position that requires the ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess student progress, and maintain a stimulating learning environment. The successful candidate will also be expected to collaborate with colleagues, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality instruction in English to students in grades 11-12, CISCE 10th, and IBDP.
- Design and administer assessments that align with the IB curriculum standards.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective lesson plans.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A Master's degree in English or a related field.
- Teaching qualifications such as B.Ed. or equivalent certification.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience teaching English, including experience preparing students for board examinations.
- Excellent knowledge of IB assessment criteria and practices.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to mentor students in academic writing and research.
The following attributes are preferred but not required:
- Experience with other international curricula.
- Participation in workshops or holding certifications.
- A passion for literature and fostering a love of reading among students.
The salary for this position is ₹8,50,000 - ₹10,50,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include:
