Job Summary:
Good Shepherd International School (GSIS) is seeking a qualified and experienced ISC 11th ,12th , CISCE 10th & IBDP English Teacher to join our team. The candidate should have a strong understanding of curriculum, specifically having taught Higher Level (HL) English and prepared students for board examinations.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Delivery:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons for IB curriculum framework.
Incorporate inquiry-based learning methods to foster critical thinking, analysis, and creativity in students.
Assessment & Evaluation:
Design and administer formative and summative assessments that align with curriculum standards.
Guide students in Internal Assessments (IAs) and Extended Essays (EEs) related to English.
Prepare students effectively for the board examinations.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a stimulating and respectful learning environment.
Monitor student progress and provide personalized support as needed.
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to enhance learning outcomes.
Participate in departmental meetings, professional development sessions, and curriculum reviews.
Extracurricular Involvement:
Encourage and guide students in English-related activities such as debates, drama, and literary clubs.
Parent Communication:
Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and achievements.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
Master’s degree in English or a related field.
Teaching qualifications such as B. Ed. or equivalent certification.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience teaching English subject, including.
Proven record of preparing students for board examinations with strong results.
Skills:
Excellent knowledge of IB assessment criteria and practices.
Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
Ability to mentor students in academic writing and research.
Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching practices.
Preferred Attributes:
Experience with other international curricula
Participation in workshops or holding certifications.
A passion for literature and fostering a love of reading among students.
Willingness to contribute to the broader school community through extracurricular activities.
