Key Responsibilities

  • Lead seismic reservoir characterization and interpretation projects.

For this position, we seek a skilled geophysicist to generate inversion products and attributes for characterizing reservoirs. You will utilize cutting-edge geophysical techniques and software to:

  • Identify Rock Physics Modelling (RPM) strategies and generate RPM/RPT;
  • Perform/review well-to-seismic ties and extract wavelets for seismic inversion;
  • Conduct fluid and lithology substitutions, cross-plot analyses, and EI evaluations;
  • Select attributes for fluid/lithology identification and perform synthetic modelling;
  • Prepare zero-offset and offset synthetics in both in-situ and what-if situations, comparing them with seismic data, and identify processing requirements for seismic reservoir characterization;
  • Provide inputs on inversion strategies (post-stack, pre-stack, elastic, coloured, GI etc.) and perform seismic inversion;
  • Generate net-to-gross, porosity, and lithology volume as required, as well as AVO/DHI attributes, and check consistency with RPM;
  • Risk-uncertainty analysis of seismic inversion and reservoir characterization.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Performing seismic interpretation and integration of well and associated data;
  • Conducting surgical interpretations of horizons and faults, and reviewing/generating maps to understand structural and stratigraphic aspects;
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate seismic data with geological and petrophysical information;
  • Performing attribute analyses and seismic blueing to enhance data;
  • Quantitative interpretation using seismic inversion and AVO attributes;
  • Velocity modelling for depth conversion, volumetric estimation, risk element capture, and QC of seismic acquisition, processing/reprocessing projects;
  • Providing inputs and interfacing with key stakeholders for static model building.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Extensive experience in prospect/field evaluation, seismic attributes & inversion, velocity modelling, risk & uncertainty assessment, techno-commerciality analysis, and exploration/appraisal/development well placement;
  • Working knowledge/hands-on experience in interpretation/reservoir characterization software like Landmark, Petrel, HRS, Jason Geoscience Workbench, RockDoc etc;
  • Capability to code in any one of the following programming languages (Python/Matlab/C); skills in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence;
  • Experience in geophysical interpretation, well-to-seismic tie, synthetic generation, wavelet extraction, horizon and fault interpretation using 2D and 3D seismic and other suitable attribute volumes, velocity modelling and depth conversion, 3D visualization and interpretation, seismic data enhancement-spectral blueing, and working experience in data analytics;
  • Knowledge of identifying and capturing uncertainties and risk in geophysical interpretations.

We are looking for candidates with at least 8 years of experience in E&P with working experience as seismic interpreter/seismic reservoir characterization geophysicist.
