We have an exciting opportunity for a Domain Trainee - Underwriting in our P&C Insurance Business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading teams and service level targets. You will facilitate goal-level creation for the team in line with business goals and work with managers to ensure the goals are cascaded to all associates.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Experience of working in UW support, policy management, Surplus Lines, submissions, loss runs, and end-to-end knowledge and experience related to P&C insurance.
  2. Understanding of US P&C insurance lifecycle—preplacement, placement, and post-placement activities.
  3. Policy documentation, UW support activities, and updating endorsements.
  4. Understanding of risks faced by the function and the controls in place to balance and mitigate the risks.
  5. Ability to function effectively in a team environment exercising good judgment.

What We Look For In A Candidate

  1. Minimum qualifications: Relevant years' experience in P&C insurance; experience with an insurance company will be an added advantage.
  2. Graduate—BA/BSc.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Ability to understand instructions on received documents & emails related to P&C Insurance policy.
  2. Ensure all controls are followed, existing exceptions are reviewed, and duplicate policies are reported before processing any transaction.
  3. Ability to handle varied volumes of workloads and reach targets and deadlines on a timely basis.
  4. Ability to key in information (typing speed & accuracy).
  5. Able to communicate with internal/external stakeholders on day-to-day routine activities.
  6. Strong SME knowledge of P&C insurance concepts.
  7. Good knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
