Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing physical design activities for subsystems, including floor-planning, place and route, clock tree synthesis, formal verification, physical verification (DRC/LVS), power delivery network, timing closure, and power optimization.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical design implementation of PPA-critical cores and making right trade-off decisions. They should have expertise in timing convergence of high-frequency data-path intensive cores and advanced static timing analysis concepts.

Responsibilities

  1. Physical Implementation Activities: Implement physical design activities for subsystems, including floor-planning, place and route, clock tree synthesis, formal verification, physical verification (DRC/LVS), power delivery network, timing closure, and power optimization.
  2. PPA Critical Cores: Implement PPA-critical cores with a focus on making right trade-off decisions.
  3. Timing Convergence: Ensure timing convergence of high-frequency data-path intensive cores using advanced static timing analysis concepts.
  4. Block Level PnR Convergence: Collaborate with design, DFT, and PNR teams to achieve block-level PnR convergence using Synopsys ICC2/Cadence Innovus and timing convergence in PTSI/Tempus in latest technology nodes.
  5. Clocking Architecture: Develop a good understanding of clocking architecture.
  6. Team Collaboration: Work closely with design, DFT, and PNR teams to resolve issues related to constraint validation, verification, static timing analysis, physical design, etc.
  7. Tcl/Perl Scripting: Have experience with Tcl/Perl scripting.
  8. Project Management: Work as part of a larger team to achieve project milestones and deadlines, handling technical deliverables with a small team of engineers.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field, or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of hardware engineering or related work experience, or 2+ years of hardware engineering or related work experience with a Master's degree, or 1+ year of hardware engineering or related work experience with a PhD.
