Sr. Physical Design Engineer Position

We seek an experienced Sr. Physical Design Engineer with a strong background in RTL to GDS flow.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design Execution: Perform high-quality physical design efforts from RTL to GDS with timely delivery of projects
  • Task Management: Execute floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, and physical verification tasks
  • Automation Development: Develop automation scripts for efficiency and reliability improvement
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design issues and achieve timing closure
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize power, performance, and area (PPA) for design specifications
  • Report Analysis: Review and analyze physical design reports and implement necessary changes
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers in knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree Requirement: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Experience Requirement: 10+ years of experience in physical design with comprehensive understanding of RTL to GDS flow
  • Process Node Experience: Hands-on experience with 3nm, 5nm process nodes
  • Design Tool Expertise: Expertise in Cadence Innovus, Synopsys ICC2, or similar physical design tools
  • Scripting Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Tcl, Perl, Python for design task automation
  • Complex Issue Resolution: Proven experience in achieving timing closure, optimizing PPA, and resolving complex design issues
Preferred Skills:
  • Low-Power Design Knowledge: Knowledge of low-power design techniques and methodologies
  • Version Control Familiarity: Familiarity with version control systems and collaborative development tools
