Corporate Lawyer

This role plays a pivotal part in the Legal leadership team, closely collaborating with the Group Chief Legal Officer (GCLO) to oversee all legal matters. It involves considerable interaction with senior management, providing strategic guidance on diverse legal issues and leading internal teams.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing legal counsel on a wide range of topics, influencing business decisions.
  • Managing litigation strategy and external counsel relationships.
  • Overseeing the legal aspects of company operations.
  • Supporting business acquisitions and project lifecycles.
  • Leading funding transactions from a legal perspective.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Corporate Deals: Managing equity deals and ensuring successful closures.
  • Contracts: Leading contract negotiations and finalization with third-party vendors.
  • M&A/ Corporate Finance: Defending indemnity claims and supporting corporate finance teams.
  • Litigations: Supporting strategic litigations and managing external counsel relationships.
  • Business Acquisition: Supporting competitive bids and reviewing bid documents.
  • Policy Advocacy: Providing general legal advice and supporting policy advocacy teams.
  • Process Formulation: Developing processes and strategies to streamline operations.
  • Legal Advisory: Providing day-to-day legal support to business teams.

Requirements

A law graduate from a reputable institution with [15+] years of experience in multinational companies, preferably in power/infrastructure/energy sectors. A mix of in-house and law firm experience is desirable.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
