Job Title: Senior SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced SQL database professional to join our team.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Install, configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot SQL Server 2005 to 2022.
    • Patch SQL Server with Service Packs, Cumulative Updates, and Hotfixes (GDR, QFE).
    • Maintain patching hierarchy and clarity on SQL Build numbers and Internal Database build numbers.
    • Upgrade or migrate SQL Server from older versions to newer ones.
    • Configure Linked Servers between same or different SQL Server versions.
    • Set up contained databases and use them for effective migrations.
    • Design recovery models and backup strategies.
    • Tune backups using Backup Encryption, Compression, and special parameters.
    • Handle Master, Model, MSDB, TEMPDB, and Resource database corruptions.
    • Configure High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions like Log Shipping, Mirroring, Clustering, Always-On AG & Replication.
    • Have hands-on knowledge of Windows Cluster, Quorum, Dynamic Quorum, Voting Mechanism, Failovers through Cluster Administrator and commands.
    • Understand advanced cluster scenarios, failover, adding disks to existing instances, and advanced cluster parameters.
    • Configure Always-On AG on standalone instances across Windows Cluster in synchronous and asynchronous modes.
    • Handle advanced Always-On AG scenarios like failover, adding new data/log files, and understanding Lease Timeout, Health check timeout, and Failure Condition Level parameters.
  • Mandatory Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of SQL Server Architecture, T-SQL, Triggers, and Procedures.
    • Administration and configuration of HA/DR solutions, Clustering, Always-ON Group etc.
    • Configuring and managing all types of replication and troubleshooting.
    • Patch management.
    • Always On AG scenarios – Failover.
    • Server capacity monitoring, analysis, and tuning activities.
    • Automation using scripts and tools for Backup, Monitoring, Resource Utilization, HA alerts, capacity plan management.
    • SQL Server Tuning.
