Estimated Salary: ₹1,500,000 - ₹2,000,000 per annum About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team at Basil. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless vendor coordination, guaranteeing quality components, and contributing significantly during the design and production phases.

This role is ideal for someone with a background in mechanical or production engineering who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is highly organized. You will work closely with our development team and vendors to plan manufacturing timelines based on external and internal dependencies.

The successful candidate will have experience in Sheet Metal Components, sound knowledge of structural mechanics, weldments, plastics, and sheet metal operations. They will also possess good understanding of manufacturing processes including turning, milling, laser cutting, bending, rolling, molding, surface finishing, and welding processes.

You will be required to create 3D models using software like SolidWorks/Catia and be competent in using SolidWorks and interpreting engineering drawings effectively. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Phase Contributions: Provide valuable inputs during the design phase to facilitate efficient manufacturing of Sheet Metal components.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work closely with the development team and vendors to plan manufacturing timelines based on external and internal dependencies.
  • Vendor Management: Setup and manage vendors for various manufacturing processes and raw material procurement.
  • Process Improvement: Expand the vendor network for the company to improve reliability and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Troubleshooting: Evaluate and troubleshoot manufacturing processes and machinery.
  • DFMA Implementation: Execute DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) on designed components and assemblies, suggesting changes for cost reduction and improved functionality.
  • Component Delivery: Ensure timely delivery of components to the assembly team.
  • Vendor Negotiations: Handle interactions and negotiations with vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement and production.
  • Rapid Scaling: Establish processes to support rapid scaling from prototype to batch production, mitigating any delays.
  • Team Coordination: Maintain a high level of team coordination and identify areas for improvement in processes to enhance manufacturing standards and product quality.
  • Problem-Solving: Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Process Innovations: Generate ideas for fixtures, assembly jigs, and process improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a similar industry and role.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering (BE/B.Tech).
  • Languages: Fluent in English.
