IT Services Sector Expert

Established research organization has ongoing vacancies for industry analysts in IT services. These roles offer a high degree of flexibility and are available to qualified candidates globally.
As an IT Services Market Analyst, you will have the opportunity to liaise with industry leaders and become a leading authority within your areas of expertise. You will advise IT services vendors on their offerings, strategic development and operational transformation journey, and provide market intelligence to major enterprises and multinationals.
Key Responsibilities- Produce detailed IT services market analyses
- Develop very detailed market analyses and profiles of IT Services providers
- Act as a subject matter expert and demonstrate thought leadership to clients
- Market forecasting and trend analysis
- Conduct interviews with senior personnel within major IT service providers
- Write profiles and market analyses
- Assess vendor capability and produce performance charts
- Attend industry analyst events and conferences
- Provide executive feedback on vendor positioning and strategic development
- Track vendor news and announcements (including financials, M&A, contract wins, new offerings)
- Develop online presence and promote research and insights
- Update the market forecast annually
- Assist buy-side firms in identifying suitable vendors
Please note that this role involves analyzing the IT services market on behalf of IT services companies and their clients. It is not a business analyst role within IT or a solution architect role.
QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you should have:
- A keen interest in learning and absorbing relevant IT services domain knowledge
- A liking for analytical projects and intellectual curiosity
- A desire to become one of the leading subject matter experts on the market for next generation approaches to IT services, including operational transformation
- Deep experience in the IT services industry, especially operational transformation, possibly in strategic marketing/product management roles and bid support
- Experience in strategic sourcing of IT services for a major enterprise
- MBA qualifications or equivalent experience in the IT services domain
- Objective opinions and a willingness to position yourself as a thought leader in the market
- Strong communication skills to facilitate building relationships across the market and managing discussions regarding vendor capability
- Knowledge of the IT services market gained, for example, in a bid support role
Domain experience and enthusiasm are of greater importance than MBA qualifications.
