Portfolio Research Expert

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our research team. As a Portfolio Research Expert, you will be responsible for analyzing mutual funds and portfolio management services.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Track and evaluate the performance of various investment schemes across different asset classes.
  • Conduct in-depth quantitative analysis using metrics such as alpha, beta, Sharpe ratio, and information ratio.
  • Perform qualitative assessment of fund houses, investment philosophies, and risk management practices.
  • Monitor portfolio positioning, sector exposures, and liquidity profiles.
  • Compare fund strategies against benchmarks and peer groups.

Due Diligence & Manager Evaluation:
  • Conduct due diligence meetings with fund managers and assess their track records.
  • Review compliance, governance, and operational risks of investment platforms.
  • Maintain an internal scoring framework for shortlisting products.

Market & Industry Tracking:
  • Stay updated on industry developments and regulatory changes impacting investment products.
  • Track market trends, flows, and innovation in product structures.
  • Monitor global trends in asset allocation and alternatives.

Reporting & Client Support:
  • Prepare research reports, presentations, and model portfolios for clients.
  • Support investment committees with recommendations and insights.
  • Assist sales teams with fund data and market outlook.

Requirements:
  • Strong grasp of financial markets, asset classes, and risk analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with Excel, financial modeling, and Bloomberg/Refinitiv tools.
  • Proficiency in quantitative techniques – regression, risk-return metrics.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and laws.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance/Economics/Statistics/Commerce.
  • Professional qualifications preferred: CFA, CA, MBA (Finance), FRM, or equivalent.
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in mutual fund research or portfolio management.
