Senior Data Architect

The role of Senior Data Architect is a leading position in our organization's Professional Services team. As a technical lead and trusted advisor, you will work on exciting distributed data business problems at private and public sector organizations.

You will engage with customers from early stage conversations through to production implementations at large multi-cluster customers. You will lead, evangelize, and collaboratively work with customers, advising them on the rollout of reference enterprise data architectures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Evangelizing, motivating, and enabling customers on their Enterprise Data Cloud journey
  • Participating in the pre and post sales process, helping both the sales and professional services management teams to interpret customer use cases
  • Assisting customers in defining their data strategy, use case success criteria, and frameworks to deliver successful implementations
  • Designing and implementing Enterprise Data Cloud architectures and configurations for customers
  • Identifying and growing professional services engagements and support subscriptions through clear demonstrations of value
  • Designing, creating, and recommending standard best practices design patterns for distributed data pipelines and analytical computing architectures
  • Planning and delivering presentations and workshops to customer/internal stakeholders
  • Mentoring junior consultants and architects
  • Helping define our approach and screen candidates in the technical hiring process
  • Writing and producing technical documentation, blogs, and knowledge base articles

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • A passion for solving real-world problems with cutting-edge technology
  • Extensive customer-facing/consulting experience interacting with large-scale distributed data/computing solutions
  • A strong business understanding of how Cloudera technologies solve real-world business problems
  • An appreciation of commercial business cases that drive customer data platform initiatives
  • Experience managing project delivery and leading a technical team
  • Strong experience designing, architecting, and implementing software solutions in an enterprise Linux environment
  • Excellent communication skills and experience with public speaking
  • Proven knowledge of big data/analytical use cases and best practice approaches to implement solutions
  • Strong experience with Cloud Platforms and open source ecosystem programming languages
  • Knowledge of the data management ecosystem, including concepts of data warehousing, ETL, and data integration
  • Experience designing frameworks for implementing data transformation and processing solutions
